About BASHLAN
BASHLAN is the PC and Console gaming division of UT-BASH. The name "BASHLAN" refers to LAN parties, which we run on a monthly basis during the school year. For more information on our LAN parties and console gaming tournaments, see the events page. For other questions, try our FAQ.
The first event with the "BASHLAN" title was a LAN Party in October of 2003. Around 40 gamers from The University of Toledo community gathered in Rocky's Attic, an out-of-use sports bar at the top level of the UT Student Union. Since then, BASHLAN has held several PC and console gaming events, including tournaments and LAN parties at BASHCon topping 70 players.
In addition, the scope of BASHLAN has grown. Though originally BASHLAN was a few members of UT-BASH working loosely to organize a PC LAN Party or two, it is now officially the UT-BASH Information Technology Committee. In addition to organizing gaming events, the IT committee oversees and maintains a number of gaming servers owned either by UT-BASH directly or its members to serve the University community and maintains the UT-BASH Web site.
